War Thread At the Empire

Well, the war has begun.

First of all, I have put the link above at the thread where the war shall take place on the Empire's board. Its within the Vornskr board.

Secondly, I wasn't sure where you want the war threads to go. I assumed Leng, since as per our story, war will take place in Leng as well.

Third, I haven't yet included any numbers for how many troops to use and such. Thus, let's just start with random numbers as we require. After all, we know what the end result is going to be anyway.

The Rise of the Vornskr

Four Hercules repulsor-transports lifted off from the temporary Vornskr base. They increased their speeds and altitude as they got farther away from the base towards South. Not that the direction mattered, because when you live in the Northern Arctic like the Vornskr do, you are usually travelling South. These four transports then, to be more specific in direction, were travelling towards the Technocracy of Universalis' lands in the middle of those belonging to the Imperial Mercenary Empire. The Empire had recently communicated to the Vornskr that if the later wanted to escape the Empire's wrath, then they should join forces with the Empire and eliminate the Arielis from the Empire's lands. The Greate Arieli Purge, it was called in the Empire. Arielis, a close brethern of the Vornskr, who upon betraying the relationship with the Empire, annexing illegally the lands of the Empire and then disappearing into the Technocracy, had made enemies out of the Vornskr. And Vornskr, being loyal to the Empire, had agreed to show their support for the Empire, by promising to getting rid of all Arielis from the lands of the Empire.

The four hercules transports reached Vader and turned towards Boba Fett. They kept increasing their altitude to great hundred feets. They carried in them 50 Besalisks each. The besalisks would airdrop onto the Arieli military base, where some resistance was expected. Upon eliminating the Arielis there, the Vornskr would have achieved their goal of eliminating the Arielis from the Empire's lands.

An hour later, 200 Besalisks jumped out of the Hercules transports and glided down quietly and stealthily towards the Arieli base.

Summary:
200 Besalisks (paratroopers) drop onto the Arieli airbase and engage in action. Assuming very little resistance.

yes. something like that. except it was agreed upon by myself and ryan. the aim is to boost/provide activity for both nations (hence the duplicate postings of war posts) with the goal being the transfer of a pixel from Universalis to the Empire.

In that case; how much do I have for an orbat?

We didn't decide to use a ruleset for the war, so it's rather open-ended. But let's say you command a force of 10,000 soldiers and personnel. Tech is capped at near future (robotics, nuclear fusion, basic lasers).

I will get a post up for my forces (and the invasion of Leng) done on Tuesday morning. I have to get a presentation done for a lecture I'm doing and will be gone all day tomorrow - so Tuesday is the earliest I can get to it.

The Besalisks Myth

Dawn was here and the sun began to slowly light the remote Arieli Willow base. During the night, the Besalisks had landed without any noise. The two hundred Besalisks had glided in into the base and once on their feet, quickly moved through the entire base eliminating the few soldiers the Arielis had left behind. The Besalisks had divided their attack into ten different groups, each targeting a different part of the base. Armed with jetpacks, the Besalisks not only attacked the main ground levels, but also the levels above it and from the roof. The defending Arieli had not only been overwhelmed in numbers and firepower, but were also totally unaware of where an attack was taking place in their base. They heard cries for help from their comrades from the roof tops, from the main ground entrances, from staircases, from the room three doors down the corridor, from the large hanger in the opposite side of the floor; it was as if the whole world had just come crashing down from all sides onto the military base. And the unfortunate Arielies who were left behind to defend the base paid a heavy price in face of a sudden and massive attack for which they had not prepared. If this was an attack by the Imperial Army, then they may have had a chance. But this was the attack of the Vornskrs and their military units were superiorally powerful to even those of the Empire! Their technology matched that of the Universalis and the Arielies and the numbers even more so. And with the Vornskrs now supporting the Empire openly, the two had become far stronger and more powerful than any other nation or force on Micras.

The Besalisk leader dialed in to the Vornskr base through the communication device in his headset. "Mission Accomplished" were the two words he spoke. Within minutes, the Empire was made aware of this mission and they dispatched the 501^st Legion to the military base to accept delivery.

An hour later, the Empire sent the Vornskr a reply. "For your gratitude, consider Leng your home". The Empire knew the Vornskr were the kind of people who loved living in the cold climate. And this gift of letting them use Leng as their 'semi-permanent' home was seen as a huge sign of acceptance. With the thought of going to their home world, the Vornskr head out towards Leng.

Summary:
Willow Base captured. Empire sends military force there to take over. Empire gives Leng to the Vornskr as their new homeworld. The Vornskr heading to Leng (unaware of what the Universalis is planning on doing).

The background story for the war is:

The Arielies attacked and took over a base on Empire's mainland. And now the Empire wants it back.

The story for the war is:

The Arielies being nomadic left Empire's mainlands and headed out to Univeralis on Leng. The Vornskr, "brothers" of Arielis, were disgusted by their attack on Empire. The Vornskr believed in being at peace and allies with the Empire, rather than enemies. The Empire sends a message to the Arielis asking them to return the base and land on Empire's mainland or face extermination from all of Empire's lands. Since this included the Vornskr, the Vornskr appealed to Empire to continue to be peaceful and allies and in return promised to get rid of the Arielis from the Empire's lands.

The Vornskr attacks the base and takes it over. This is followed by an attack on Empire's lands on Leng by Universalis' Arielis. The Vornskr then head over to Leng to take it back.

Now, this should keep the war between the Vornskr and the Arielis, rather than Empire and Universalis. Thereby allowing the technology level of this war to be Star Wars like.

Also, I am hoping that the number of Vornskr is more than that of Arielis. I plan on having the Vornskr lose a large percentage of their population while liberating their Leng homeworld. Thereby reducing them to a few hundreds or a thousand or so. They would then be moved to the Empire's southern lands (in southern hemisphere). (A bit of culture development, that would require each Vornskr to make a pilgrimage to Leng at least once in their lifetime or something to honor their dead).


Also, the reason for a thread being linked to the Empire's forum is so that the posts being made here can be duplicated over there by the poster. Since this war was undertaken to give activity to both nations, we figured it was best to have a duplicate post made in the other nation. Thus, all the participant has to do is post here, and make a similar copy of their post on the Empire's threads.
