So. Who besides me has seen it?
I personally thought it was visually awesome. The story was so-so, ripping off on a lot of real parallels. I won't post any spoiler stuff yet for those that haven't seen it.

So.... what did you think?
I see it surpassed Star Wars but hasn't beaten (gag me) Titanic.

I have not seen it. But my oldest daughter and some friends did, and they enjoyed it. I got lost in the re-telling of the story, so I'm not much more help than that. :-p

Please excuse the language.
Concept: Good, at first... It turns out to be pretty nutse. Plot: Again, looks good right up until the point you realise the whole thing is nutse. Action: Testosteriffic. That isn't a good thing. SFX: Descent Dialogue: GOOD LORD MAKE IT STOP! WTF moments: In abundance, that isn't a good thing either.

I suppose that for someone in her tweens - this was golden. I've never attributed the idea of heavy thinking to much of anything she enjoys lol

I'm still trying not to apply heavy thinking to the fact that I'm the only un-married one on this nation. I mean; where on the /internet/ is there a place with only one single guy?

That's what we do: break internet traditions Of course, if we got another single dude, it would be a 50/50 split lol

If we got a single girl, then we represent about 12 demographics...
Speaking of breaking traditions; do we have a national anthem? I propose either 'She blinded me with science' or 'the dialup modem noise we all grew up with'

And the second one isn't a song... just to clarify...

I saw it with my wife. I had to see it, if just for seeing the "flying islands" since I used to be a citizen of Jasonia/FIoJ.
Visually, the CGI was pretty stunning. And as an environmentalist, I loved the whole Gaia concept. But otherwise it seemed to me like a lot of the story was ripping off our own historical parallels. Like our subjugation of the Apache tribes. So yeah, the story didn't jazz me up all that much, and it didn't leave me feeling "oh, I gotta see that again!" like when I first saw Star Wars.

And I'm a fan of Thomas Dolby, so that has my vote.
I put up with that bloody modem buzzing for way too much of my life....

But it's unique! What other nation has an unsignable anthem?

Don't say its un-singable. Back in the day, I used to sing a little song I made up myself to go along with the sound - as a way to kill time while I was waiting for my 2400 baud to connect.

If you type it out, that can be our anthem!
