A general overview of the starfleet. This includes all military forces of Universalis, so there are no other components. If new components are added, they will be considered extensions of the starfleet and therefore still subordinate to central command.
Basic Units
Marine
The basic infantry forces of the starfleet, Marines comprise the bulk of the fighting forces and are pretty much the majority of personnel staffing everything from battlemechs to starships.
Tripod
The tripod is the basic armored unit of the starfleet. Simple and cheap to construct, they are extremely mobile and powerful. Sheathed hydraulics work the pistons in the three legs, while a small electric battery powers both the engines and the ray gun. The ray gun itself uses an prism bolt, focusing the power of the sun in the day, and using electric power at night, it can turn steel to butter in a matter of minutes. They can alternately be fitted with standard bullet guns, but lack the stability to support a missile system. The conical upper compartment of the pod is sheathed in solar cells on top of armor plate, which allows the battery to constantly charge during the day.
Quadropod
The quadropod is the next step above the tripod. Designed as a heavier assault vehicle, the quadropod can carry a large marine detachment in its hull, as well as more powerful cannons at its front. As such, it is intended for bombardment attacks and infantry transport. As a result of the larger size it is bulkier, less stable, and much slower; thus it is often escorted by tripods and ground forces.
Battlemech
Battlemechs are enhanced mobility armored units. Essentially a walking tank the battlemechs are the most expensive ground unit of the military, but they are a multirole unit serving in the capacity of armored vehicle (tank) or artillery. Their only downside is the high cost and need for constant maintenance.
Needlejet
The needlejet is the basic air-to-air and air-to-ground unit of the starfleet atmospheric corps. These units patrol the skies, and cannot venture into space. Sleek and fast, they are well balanced to maneuver at high speeds and deliver a deadly blow to the enemy.
This list is still under construction, and there may be separate files posted on specific unit types to flesh out scientific data at some point.
