What is everyone's view on the Hadron Collider?I personally think it is a major ethical violation. We're messing in things we shouldn't be.I understand the human thirst for knowledge, but why can't we just accept one plethora of theories of how the universe? There have been some that have said that the Hadron Collider may make mini black holes(which they said would dissolve into nothingness)A black is still a black hole.A piece of black hole, even if it were too small for the human eye to see, would still have massive gravity. But those are just my opinions.

While I am very fearful of the potential mishaps that could occur with the Hadron Collider, I am still in favor of it. Mostly because I am the curious type and have always been fascinated with theoretical physics, especially the work of Dr. Stephen Hawking. Preferably we'd be doing this type of experimentation on a different planet. But since government's would rather spend money on war rather than research, we're stuck doing it on Earth.

Good point.I'd don't think it would hurt us too much if Mars was gobbled up with a black hole. Then again if Mars were destroyed it might cause negative gravitional consequences.

I'm sure there are many who would put up a fuss if Mars suddenly disappeared. Of course, even on another planet, a black hole cannot be stopped (at least by any means we currently understand) and therefore would eventually destroy the entire solar system. So there is a lot of risk involved with the Hadron project. But given the amount of personnel, money, research, and effort put in, I think (and hope) there is adequate safety measures being taken to prevent such a catastrophe from occurring.

Well, nothing happened... So... Shall we make our own LHC?

That's an interesting idea. Let's go for it!
