In an effort to consolidate our holdings on Micras, Universalis has made arrangements to purchase the island of Leng and the city of Willow.
Leng, presently owned by Amokolia, has been purchased for 1 million Credits (Universal monetary unit) in a deal concluded between the Governor (myself) and the Chairman (also myself). Since no law forbids the sale of land from one entity to another, this process is fully legal. Several units and infantry and armor, along with the carrier the HMS Socrates, have been dispatched to defend the island and secure Universal administration. All appropriate documentation has already been transferred to Universalis.
As a hired mercenary for the Imperial Mercenary Empire, representing land control over a portion of area equal to the size of the ruins of the city of Willow and its surrounding environs, the contract for myself has been purchased on behalf of Universalis for approximately one-hundred-thousand Credits. The terms of the purchase are for the ceding of the ruined city to Universalis as a permanent base and supply/trade depot along our shipping lanes. Accompanying mercenary units will be hired and incorporated into the Universal military, and subsequently added to our internal payroll. Additional defense units are being dispatched to secure the base. Given the nature of the other mercenaries, it is not certain if they will respond with an outright attack or utterly fold.
