Given that recent outbreak of war between Ashkenatza and Ocia, it is with great regret that conflict has once again broken out on Micras. However, the persona known as Matt Kovac, his papels, and Ocia as a whole, have long been a thorn in micronational community. Not only have ample gestures and overtures been made to help Ocia and Kovac to grow, mature, and develop, but these efforts have been in vain. Common sense departed Ocia long ago, and has yet to return. Nor, I strongly doubt, will it ever.
As such, with provocations continuing unabated, this has left the community little choice but to respond to the growing problem of Ocia. Ashkenatza is simply the first to put to action what has been on the minds of many for a long time already. Therefore it is of no surprise that war has begun, and should be no further surprise when it spirals into a much larger conflict.
Obviously, alternative measures have not succeeded in changing Ocia or Kovac for the better. Which leaves only one option for solution. Since it seems unlikely that Ocia will be banished from the community, war is the only other alternative. Provided of course that Ocia agrees to participate by fair terms - which is also sadly unlikely. It is the sincere hope of this government that Ocia will not resort to hacking or its typical charades. A fair fight may, in the end, prove to be the only factor by which the nation and its leader can save face.
As of now, Universalis remains outside of the conflict and only offers diplomatic support to Ashkenatza. If, however, Ocia provokes our state, we may shift our stance even further in support of the Ashkenatzans.
