I figure since we're all pals, and with the land-trade being such a fantastic gesture on our part (hehe), I should stop in for a visit and make nice with the people of The Technocracy. I've poked around a bit, and I like it here! Think I might hang around for a while...maybe catch me a ride to the Observatory for some observatory-ing!!

Honestly though. As newly (somewhat) appointed Deputy Lord Warden to The Outland, I have been charged with ensuring the positive diplomatic status of Stormark among our peers. So I am here to do just that. Hope you're all doing well.

Hello, Ironfist. Glad to have you here; and yes, I am very thankful to Stormark for the land trade. It certainly brings us much closer to restoring our land to what it was back in 2000.

You're welcome to visit any part of the country and ask all the questions you like. That's what I'm here for after all.

One quick question...what ever happened to the PRH? That's one place I would love to re-visit.

It went the way of the dinosaurs. EZBoard deleted most of their forums a year or two ago since they closed in favor of Yuku. The PRH was, sadly, one of the boards that got deleted.

Whoever the morons in charge of EZBoard are. Not only did they close my favorite forum host, they started Yuku, which is possibly the worst forum host I've ever used!

EDIT: It would help if I spelled things correctly...

I was actually commenting in Stormark about the days of EZBoard...I liked the idea that most of the MCS nations were using the same type of forum hosting. It was MUCH better than me having to register on...what is the count now??... ... twelve different forums? :-p ugh

Yeah, I miss that too. It was very convenient to jump between forums and not change accounts all the time. Proboards isn't bad though, I'm pretty happy with their service overall, and they're pretty customizable too, which I was always a big fan of.

Yeah it's neat to see so many different skins. Sort of makes each nation its own little place - which is sorta the point after all.

Indeed. I always try to get people to put effort into their forums so that it "feels" like you're in a different country. I think it also helps newcomers to gain a better sense of a nations culture. Pictures convey a thousand words.

Very good points. I gotta tell ya...I really dig the look and feel of this Forum. I am a sucker for astronomical-types; science and science-fiction; and just black in general. Well done, laddie!

While the offer is greatly appreciated - joining would break my self imposed "one nation only" rule. Stormark demands enough of my time and attention as it is. Couple that with work and a growing family (my newborn son will be one month old on Saturday) - and I just don't think it would be fair to become a citizen someplace where I wouldn't be able to give it 100%

Ah yes, that explains the "mad" Viking. My wife tells me I'm nuts quite often for participating in this hobby.

But I understand your commitments. I don't have children yet - and a big congrats to you btw - so my time is a little more flexible. At any rate, feel free to comment or participate where you like. I do try to keep at least the institutional/academic end of things here as open to the public as possible.

We are nuts. Sometimes this whole thing causes much more grief than it should. Everyone has the tendency to take things overly serious at times - we cant seem to help ourselves! So yes...sanity is not really a commonly found attribute around these parts.
