The Wildstar Nature Sanctuary is comprised of the three smaller and uninhabited islands of the Celestial Isles; Huygens, Halley, and Galilei. Laws have been put in place prohibiting certain actions, among these include:
- No hunting or fishing - No trapping or removing - No littering - Camping and picnics only in designated areas - Docking only at designated launches - Stick to trails ~ Unnecessary trampling can destroy flora and fauna
With these simple rules in place, the Universal Department of Conservation and Recreation allows for the management of native species and protecting the wild nature of the three islands. Only small boat launches are allowed in one place on each island, where campers can moor their vessels to the shore and make camp nearby. Only tenting is allowed and there is no road access available. A small UDCR outpost is to be built on Galilei - the largest of the three islands. From here they will be equipped with ATVs and small transport boats to gain access to the islands and their interior trail networks.
Biological and environmental research will be allowed on the islands so long as it does not impact the state of the existing ecology.
These islands represent an important Micran Antarctic ecology and should be protected for the enjoyment of all people, around the world. The UDCR will feature periodic articles highlighting aspects of the environment and helping bring about greater public awareness about the plants and animals that make their home here.
